Omana Projects Reviews Progress of the Dholera Smart City Project Ahead of Key 2026 Milestones

Omana Projects, a developer of residential, SCO and commercial plots in the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), has issued a status review of the Dholera Smart City Project, summarizing where its major infrastructure now stands as several components approach completion.

The Dholera Smart City Project is a greenfield city being developed across roughly 920 sq km in Ahmedabad district under the Dholera Special Investment Region Development Authority (DSIRDA), as part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor.

According to the review, the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, a 109-km access-controlled road connecting the region to Ahmedabad, has been operational since March 2026. The Dholera International Airport, near Navagam village, was reported at roughly 80 percent completion in a mid-2026 government review, with passenger operations targeted for later this year, a date the review notes is a target rather than a confirmed opening.

The review also covers the Tata Electronics-PSMC semiconductor fabrication plant, an industrial anchor for the project with construction reported past the halfway mark and trial production targeted for December 2026. A related Special Economic Zone was formally notified in April 2026, and the state's 2026-29 Data Centre Policy has named Dholera a potential hub for large-scale data centre development.

Buyers still need to look at each project on its own timeline. An approved project, one under construction, and one already operational are three different things, and we think that distinction matters more than any single headline. The review stops short of projecting plot price outcomes, noting that infrastructure progress does not guarantee returns on any specific parcel of land, and that documentation checks remain the buyer's responsibility regardless of overall project momentum.
