Gujarat CM Reviews Dholera SIR Development, Semiconductor Facility Progress
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has reviewed key industrial, social infrastructure and connectivity projects at the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), including construction progress at Tata Electronics’ semiconductor fabrication facility. The visit highlights the coordinated development of industrial infrastructure and supporting amenities in the region.
According to a report published by Hindustan Times on October 16, the Chief Minister inspected projects in Dholera’s Activation Area, including a proposed 200-bed multi-speciality hospital, an integrated school, a fire station, a guest house, a food court, a tent city, a hotel, and residential and commercial developments. He also reviewed green-space development, with more than 1.11 lakh saplings planted across 53 hectares.
The review included Tata Electronics’ semiconductor fabrication facility, a major component of Dholera’s emerging electronics manufacturing ecosystem. The development is expected to support a wider network of semiconductor-related industries, suppliers, technology businesses and skilled employment as the ecosystem evolves.
Connectivity was another focus. The Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway was reported as operational, while the Dholera International Airport was progressing toward its stated operational target by the end of 2026. A 23-kilometre Bhimnath–Dholera Logistics Hub railway line is also under development. The approved 134-kilometre Ahmedabad–Dholera semi-high-speed railway project is intended to strengthen connections between Ahmedabad, Dholera SIR, the airport and Lothal.
